Dr. Deborah Mackay of the Wessex Regional Genetics Laboratory, Salisbury came to the Salisbury Diabetes Group meeting in April 2009 to be presented with a cheque stating Salisbury Diabetes Group had given her team £12,000 to date for her Clinical Project. A very kind lady donated 3 balloon rides to members of the Salisbury Diabetes Voluntary Group which were taken in April 2009 by Janet and Alan Harris and Steve Wheeler.  A glorious sunny, if very blowy, Sunday evening.

Nurses Sponsored Walk around Salisbury. In aid of the Retinal Screening Fund. Fundraising - Tisbury Fete. In aid of the Retinal Screening Fund. Cheque donated from fundraising Disco. In aid of the Retinal Screening Fund.
       
 
Mr D Mullan (president) and Mrs Anne Bull (chair) cutting the cake to celebrate 25 years of the Salisbury Group at an event held at Milford Hall. A raffle was also drawn at this event. In aid of the Retinal Screening Fund.  
       
Presentation Evening - Retinal Camera and Computer. The Signature Quilt raised £221. In aid of the Retinal Screening Fund. Rosemary Squires concert which raised a total of £2348 and the BLAYZ concert which raised £1430. In aid of the Retinal Screening Fund and Children within the Salisbury District Hospital area.
       
   
  Two events that Betty has held at her home.  
     
Diabetes UK Salisbury held their Christmas Social and prize draw at the Barrington Hall, Bishopdown Estate, Salisbury on 1st December.

Janet Harris welcomed members and guests who enjoyed a buffet. This was followed by the DRAW. A single size hand-made quilt made by four members of Sarum Quilters was the 1st prize and was won by Mrs.Marion Joscelyn. Annabelle Downing,  Jo Pearson and Kathy Lawrence, from Sarum Quilters, helped draw the tickets. Sue Goodridge, Secretary, handed a cheque for £715.00. to Dr.  James Lawrence, Diabetes Consultant at Salisbury District Hospital.  Dr. Dermott Mullan, our President, also attended the evening.

Janet Harris thanked Sarum Quilters, and Sue for organising the whole Draw.
